At the foot of Mont-Blanc in a small valley
tucked in the woods, you’ll discover just the
uniquely charming ski village of Les
Nestled in at 1164 meters, Les
Contamines has managed to hold on to
its authenticity and typically
Savoyard heart and soul. Many
already recognize Les Contamines for
its dependable annual snow fall and
sunny orientation. The town is
surrounded by several impressive
mountain peaks. To the east,
you’ll see the high mountains , les
Dômes de Miage (3, 673 m.) and
Bionnassay Peak (4,052 m.) which is
part of the Massif du Mont Blanc.
To the west, the resort stretches
out over the sides of le Mont Joly
(2,525 m.) and allows one to access
skiing at Hauteluce through the Col
The ski area covers several mountain
faces. More than 120 kms of
trails give skiers and riders of all
levels and interest vast choices for
a varied and rich ski vacation.
The summit at the Tête du Veleray
offers a wonderful panoramic view of
the Massif du Mont Blanc, the Aravis
range and the gorgeous Beaufortain
valley. Further, to the south,
you’ll see towards the peak called
“Bonhomme” which guides you towards
Contamines, one can explore downhill skiing,
cross country skiing on beautifully maintained
tracks, "ski de randonnée", snowshoeing, ice
skating and dog sledding. There is a
snowpark for snowboarders, a childcare center, a
movie theater and thermal baths in nearby St.
Les Contamines is the home of the annual
Freestyle Skiing World Cup.
